The Girl’s Summer 2009 Haircuts

Author: After a year of Alannah asking to cut her hair off, we finally decided to let her try it. We usually cut the girl’s hair once a year and right before summer. Alannah’s hair was long enough to donate about 8" to Pantene Beautiful Lengths, which makes wigs for women who have lost their hair due to cancer treatments. Her school has been honoring Earth Awareness this week, so she likes to say she is "recycling" her hair. It looks really cute and she is so excited about it. Avlyn decided she wanted her hair a little shorter, but not really short like Alannah. Her hair looks really cute on her as well. Avlyn has been bouncing around the house because she likes the way it feels. Their new haircuts fit their personalities and will be so easy to maintain this summer. And for our family who may be very shocked by the new haircuts, Alannah reminded me that "it is just hair and will grow back." They really do look cute with their shorter hair though.

It must just be the camera or lighting. Their hair wasn’t crimped.

My sweet precious grandgirls, as I told you this afternoon, you are so beautiful, as always, with your beautiful new hair styles. You are both so beautiful with long, short, or however you want to wear your hair. Alannah, I am so proud of you for donating your hair. There will be a very fortunate girl to have your beautiful hair; and they will know a special person gave it to them. Avlym, what a precious girl you are. Aunt Sissy and Uncle George so enjoyed you this last wkend and on Sunday nite, I got a call saying how much they missed you three. Monday, I got a call saying how much they missed you three. I said, I’ll bring them back in July. Thank you for making the weekend a really great time. I love you both. Pops is very proud of you all also and loves you too. Love, Pippi
So pretty! Girls, enjoy your hair short, because if your hair grows as fast as Grammy’s…well it will be long again very soon. I agree with Pippy…you are both beautiful with long or short hair.
